Tony Khan Teases More AEW Debuts Ahead Of Upcoming Specials

Tony Khan has teased more AEW signings, noting that he aims to produce shows that are unmissable.

In a previous interview, the AEW President revealed that he plans to remain active in signing great wrestlers to AEW, teasing ‘more surprises’.

There has been speculation that a free agent will debut for the promotion during Wednesday’s Winter is Coming event. Speaking with DAZN, Khan pointed out that AEW has several big shows coming up, stating that fans should find the next few weeks will be really exciting.

Noting that there are now a number of free agents on the market that he admires, Khan said:

“I’m more than aware that there’s a number of free agents out there, wrestlers I admire too, but I’ve got to say that you just have to keep watching over these next few weeks and not just ‘Winter is Coming.’ There’s the ‘Holiday Bash’ special from Greensboro, North Carolina, that includes the Christmas Day ‘Rampage.’

“We have the last ever episode on TNT followed by the debut episode on TBS. There’s ‘Battle of the Belts’ coming in January. I want AEW to run shows that you just can’t miss, and I think these next few weeks are going to be really exciting for fans of wrestling.”

With ROH Final Battle 2021 in the books, a number of notable names from the ROH roster will become free agents at the end of the year, if they haven’t been released from their contracts already.

Top NXT stars Johnny Gargano and Kyle O’Reilly recently let their WWE deals expire, so could theoretically appear for AEW in the near future.

At Winter is Coming, Bryan Danielson will challenge Hangman Page for the AEW World Championship.
