Tony Khan has named a recent signing as a top star ahead of their championship match at AEW Forbidden Door on August 24.
The AEW President made the statement during the media call to promote Forbidden Door.
With Mercedes Mone defending the TBS Championship against Alex Windsor (AEW), Bozilla (Stardom) and Persephone (CMLL) at Forbidden Door, Khan reflected on the importance of his recent signing to the company.
Speaking in more detail about Alex Windsor, who signed with AEW in June, Tony Khan described her as a “huge, huge piece of the puzzle” for the company.
He would go on to discuss her star power, stating that she could be and currently is a “top star” in AEW, saying:
“I think Alex Windsor could be a top star in AEW in the future and to go on further, I think Alex Windsor is a top star in AEW right now.”
Windsor joined the promotion off the back of a lengthy independent wrestling career that included a tour of Japan.
She is a former Undisputed British Women’s Champion in England’s Revolution Pro Wrestling, a title that Mercedes Mone now holds.
The August 20 Forbidden Door go-home episode of AEW Dynamite saw Windsor team with Toni Storm against Athena & Mercedes Mone.
