If you were hoping to get any further update on the relationship between AEW and MJF, Tony Khan may be poised to disappoint.
In tonight’s post-event media scrum, Nick Hausman of WrestlingInc asked Tony Khan about MJF’s status with the company, to which Khan had a fascinating reply.
Tony Khan has a visible response to the question, his countenance overall becoming more stoic as he replied:
“Especially after the great show we did, I’m not going to comment on it but it’s a fair question to ask, but I’m not going to cover that one now, thank you.”

MJF has remained absent from AEW television since his recent controversial promo segment, dubbed by some as the ‘MJF Pipebomb’ during which he directly referenced AEW boss Tony Khan, calling him a “f***ing mark” before his microphone was cut and the show threw to commercial.
The promo has never been addressed on-air, and no official statements have been made by AEW regarding MJF’s status however he has been removed from the AEW Rampage bumper, AEW roster, AEW merchandise store, unfollowed by AEW on Twitter and the clip of the promo nor official photos from it have ever been released.
We’ll have coverage of the post-show media scrum but you can check out all the details from tonight’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door by clicking here.
