AEW CEO Tony Khan made a change on the fly during tonight’s May 14 episode of Dynamite in Chicago after seeing negative fan feeback.
One of the matches on tonight’s show was an AEW Women’s World Championship eliminator match between Skye Blue, AZM, Mina Shirakawa and champion Toni Storm.
The match was Shirakawa’s first since she officially signed an AEW contract.
She made her entrance with brand new theme music, which apparently wasn’t received well by fans online.
Shirakawa actually won the match, and as she was celebrating, it was her old theme music that played instead of the new one she’d just used for her entrance.
On social media, Khan confirmed that he’d seen negative feedback to her entrance and had made the decision to switch her music back.
When one fan tweeted: “We need Mina old theme back boss im tryna vibe 😭”, Khan replied:
I already switched it back
Another fan asked: “did TK check twitter to see everyone ragging on that mina theme and decide to change it back on the fly??”, to which Khan simply replied:
Yeah
Thanks to her win, Shirakawa will challenge Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Double Or Nothing on May 25.
