CM Punk is set to make his return to AEW television on tomorrow night’s debut episode of AEW Collision on TNT.
Punk is set to team with AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR to take on Jay White, Juice Robinson and Samoa Joe in the first Collision main event.
Over the past nine months while Punk has been away from AEW, fans had been speculating on his future, and whether or not he’d return after the scenes from the All Out media scrum.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Tony Khan discussed Punk’s upcoming return, and how he had always wanted to get Punk back in the ring.
He said:
“For me, I always wanted to get CM Punk back in the ring and I’m really excited that it’s finally happening tomorrow night. I always wanted to make that happen and I’m glad it’s happening.”
When host Dave LeGreca said that he believed Punk’s return would be a great thing for AEW, Khan responded in agreement.
He said:
“I think so too. It’s going to be really great to have CM Punk back in Chicago and back in AEW. He’s a huge star and it’s going to be a really exciting night for the fans. We’re trying to build a tradition on Saturday night and bring Saturday night wrestling back. I think CM Punk will be a huge part of that.”
Punk broke his silence today on the AEW All Out media scrum and match with Adam Page at AEW Double or Nothing, which you can read here.
