Tony Khan Compares AEW Star To WCW Era Goldberg

Leading up to AEW Dynamite moving to TBS, Tony Khan shared which AEW star he feels has had the  “most dominant run” of late.

In an interview with Josh Martinez from Z100 and iHeartRadio in Newark, New Jersey, Tony Khan spoke about the upcoming final of the TBS Championship Tournament between Jade Cargill and Ruby Soho to determine the inaugural TBS Champion, saying:

“Jade Cargill, probably the most dominant run, in my opinion, any wrestler in North America has been on on television since Bill Goldberg 25 years ago.

“The most dominant run, and Jade Cargill is a dominant wrestler, but Ruby Soho has come in and defied the odds repeatedly. Ruby Soho has come in and won the Women’s Casino Battle Royale, taking out 20 other competitors. Of course she was there at the end battling it out with Thunder Rosa and a lot of people thought that could be the final for the TBS Championship tournament, but Jade’s been so dominant.”

An angle on last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw the debut of Mercedes Martinez to interfere at the end of the semi-final match between Cargill and Thunder Rosa with Ruby Soho also making an appearance to break up a post-match beatdown on Rosa by Martinez and Cargill.

The first episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS is also currently scheduled to feature Hangman Adam Page defending the AEW Championship against Bryan Danielson with guest judges, Lucha Brothers defending against Jurassic Express for the AEW World Tag Team Championship, and Malakai Black taking on Brian Pillman Jr.
