With speculation swirling around possible injuries for Adam Cole and Jeff Hardy, Tony Khan has now broken his silence on the matter.
Tweeting tonight (May 31) ahead of AEW Dynamite’s Los Angeles debut, Khan tweeted:
“With @AdamColePro & @JEFFHARDYBRAND out injured this week after #AEWDoN I’ve asked Adam & Jeff to pick replacement partners for #AEWDynamite’s LA debut tomorrow! Jungle Boy/ @luchasaurus @Christian4Peeps @MATTHARDYBRAND
team with @DarbyAllin vs. reDragon/ @youngbucks + @Hiku_Leo!”
Confirming that Cole and Hardy are both “out injured this week” is notable as there was speculation but until this tweet from Khan, no confirmation for the reason for Adam Cole being removed from the AEW Dynamite match.
Also important is the “this week” as the two could just be taking this week off after their exceptional matches at AEW Double or Nothing on Sunday in Las Vegas.
Choosing their own replacements seems to be a fun twist on the change in the match regardless of the rationale as it 10-man is back on with addition of Darby Allin and NJPW star, Hikuleo.
