Ever since AEW’s inception, the company has held four pay-per-view events of equal value, with the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door show being added last year.
In recent years, WWE has held two nights of WrestleMania, including this past weekend, which made records as the highest grossing WrestleMania in history.
Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Khan was asked if AEW could follow in the footsteps of WrestleMania, and potentially hold a multi-day event.
He said:
“We could do one event spanning a weekend and we could also do multiple events across a week. It’s something we’re considering, especially as we keep entering so many new debut markets.
“We’re looking forward to expanding and holding more huge events.”
Tony Khan has been hyping up an ‘important announcement’ for tonight’s AEW Dynamite show, which he says is something he has dreamed about for years.
AEW is set to make their debut in the United Kingdom this year, which many speculate could be what Khan’s announcement could be tonight.
