Tony Khan Addresses Darby Allin’s AEW Status After Mount Everest Climb AEW

Tony Khan has addressed Darby Allin’s status ahead of AEW Double or Nothing, following the star’s recent Mount Everest expedition.

Darby Allin reached the summit of Mount Everest on May 18, 2025, with AEW Double or Nothing taking place on May 25.

During a pre-show media call, Tony Khan shared his thoughts on Allin’s achievement, noting the star’s importance to AEW, saying:

“Darby Allin is one of the greatest wrestlers in AEW, and we’re incredibly proud of what he’s accomplished.

“Climbing Mount Everest was a major goal for him, and he did it. He set out on this journey with two clear objectives — the climb itself, which demanded total focus, and becoming the first pro wrestler, and one of the first pro athletes, to reach the summit.

“It’s an extraordinary feat, and something truly worth celebrating.”

Khan would then go on to speak about Allin’s return to AEW, although he wouldn’t specify when fans could expect that to take place, stating:

“Darby is a remarkable person. He loves AEW, and the fans love him.

“He’s a vital part of our locker room, and we’re all looking forward to his safe return.

“I can’t wait to welcome him back. Whenever he’s ready, we’ll be thrilled to have him.”

It was previously reported that AEW had hoped that Darby Allin could return for Double or Nothing, although any such plans are yet to be officially confirmed.

According to Fightful Select, it seemingly “wasn’t an impossibility” that Allin could appear in some capacity at this weekend’s pay-per-view.

Allin was last seen in screen at the December 22, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite, taking Ricochet to a time-limit draw in the Continental Classic.
