AEW President Tony Khan has defended Adam Cole’s booking in response to online discourse about his position in the company.
Since Cole left WWE in August and signed with AEW in September, a portion of the fanbase has questioned whether Cole fits into the promotion, comparing his short time in AEW to his successful NXT tenure.
On Twitter, Will Washington pointed out that Cole is still facing notable names, and receives passionate reactions wherever he goes. In a reply, Khan argued that these critics aren’t consistent, and make ‘ridiculous points’.
Stating that Adam Cole has more eyes on him now than he did ‘on Tuesdays’, Khan wrote:
“It’s false equivalence, Will. They try to move the line with ridiculous points aiming to dispute the credibility of something credible. Adam Cole is over af, he’s pushed & has many more young fans watching him than he did on Tuesdays. Would we argue if they said water wasn’t wet?”

I’m sure Wrestling Twitter will react to Khan’s words rationally.
Cole hasn’t lost a singles match since signing with AEW. On Friday’s edition of Rampage, Cole and Bobby Fish defeated Orange Cassidy and Wheeler YUTA.
