Tony Khan Explains ROH World Title Match And Why NJPW Star Will Face Top AEW Star AEW

Tony Khan has explained why a NJPW star will face a top AEW star and a former ROH star will get a title match on this Wednesday’s Dynamite.

All Elite Wrestling announced on Friday’s Rampage that NJPW star Juice Robinson will face AEW World Champion Jon Moxley in an Eliminator match on the September 28 edition of Dynamite.

On September 26, the company announced that Chris Jericho will make his first defense of the Ring of Honor World Championship against Bandido on the same episode.

These match announcements led to some fans who questioned why Juice was facing the top champion in the promotion and why Bandido deserved a shot at the ROH World Title.

In reply to a fan who questioned the matches on Instagram, AEW President Tony Khan took to Instagram to respond.

Khan replied:

@pureplexed Bandido never got a rematch for the title, which is implied in the copy I wrote. Juice has beaten Mox in NJPW, which is explicitly written in the copy I wrote.

Bandido won the ROH World Championship from Rush at Best In The World in July 2021 before losing to Jonathan Gresham in a title unification match at Supercard of Honor in April 2022.

Juice Robinson defeated Jon Moxley in the G1 Climax 29 tournament in 2019. The two men feuded over the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship with Moxley beating Robinson for the gold.
