Tony Khan Wants To Feature Paul Wight More On AEW TV AEW

AEW President Tony Khan has praised Paul Wight, noting that he plans to feature Wight more prominently on AEW TV when he’s healthy.

The former ‘Big Show’ joined AEW in February 2021, before becoming an announcer for AEW Dark: Elevation following the show’s launch that March.

Wight has wrestled a handful of times for AEW, most recently on the April 4 edition of Dark: Elevation, against Austin Green.

Speaking with Robbie Fox on ‘My Mom’s Basement’, Tony Khan noted that he wants to feature Wight on more shows when he’s healed up. Noting that the giant has been injured for a lot of his AEW tenure, Khan said:

“Paul, seeing him up and around has been great. Paul Wight is such an awesome presence in pro wrestling and when he’s healthy, and can be on the shows again, you know, I want to feature Paul. Unfortunately, a lot of his time in AEW has been hurt.

“He’s great on commentary when he’s been able to travel. I think that’s something, he has a great future quite frankly. I think he’s worked really, really hard at it and deserves opportunities there. So I have a lot of great things to say about Paul Wight.”

Paul Wight has only wrestled for AEW once this year. In 2021, the former WWE Champion had three matches for the promotion, making his AEW in-ring debut at All Out 2021 against QT Marshall.
