Vince McMahon is officially back on the WWE board of directors as of January 6, 2023.
McMahon’s return was made so that he could spearhead a potential sale of the company ahead of the negotiations for it’s television rights, which expire next year.
With the news of WWE being up for sale, fans have speculated about who could end up buying the company.
Fans have jokingly thrown out the name of Tony Khan to be the one to buy WWE in a similar fashion to McMahon buying WCW back in 2001.
In an interview with Brandon Kravitz, Khan was asked how closely he had been paying attention to the rumours of WWE being for sale, to which he said he had been following ‘very closely’.
Obviously this is natural given Tony’s role as a competitor for the company, and what happens to WWE will have a ripple effect on the entire wrestling industry.
But also that’s not very fun, so WWE TO AEW CONFIRMED!
