Tony Khan Reveals Forbidden Door Moment That Gave Him ‘True Happiness’ AEW

AEW CEO Tony Khan has singled out a particular moment at June 25’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view that gave him “true happiness”.

While the AEW x NJPW show was stacked with memorable moments and matches, the AEW boss has pointed towards the return of Bryan Danielson’s epic entrance theme ‘The Final Countdown’ as perhaps the pick of the bunch.

Replying to a fan who posted the moment on Twitter, Khan said:

I experienced true happiness in that moment.

Fans, Bryan and Khan would surely love to see the legendary Europe banger return as the American Dragon’s permanent theme, but the costs involved mean it was likely just a one-time deal.

Speaking at the post-Forbidden Door press conference, Khan stated that obtaining the song’s use for one night was “as much as a wrestler’s contract”.

It had also been revealed previously that if they obtained the right to use the song for Danielson going forward they would also be limited in how many times a year they could use it.

Fuelled by Final Countdown no doubt, Danielson managed to overcome Kazuchika Okada in the main event of Forbidden Door, shockingly forcing the Rainmaker to submit with a modified Lebell Lock.

However, the result was hampered by an unfortunate injury to Danielson that will see him miss up to eight weeks of action, to find out the latest on the injury click this link.

Danielson also addressed the criticism thrown at AEW following a particularly ‘risky’ move being used during the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship match between Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay – click this link to find out Danielson’s comments.
