Tony Khan Explains Why HOOK Is A More Logical World Title Challenger Than WWE Star WWE/AEW

AEW President Tony Khan has explained why FTW Champion HOOK is a more logical world title challenger than WWE star Jinder Mahal.

On the January 6 edition of AEW Collision, FTW Champion HOOK made a challenge to the new AEW World Champion Samoa Joe.

Then on the January 8 episode of WWE Raw, Jinder Mahal interrupted World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. After a physical confrontation between the two, it was announced that Mahal will challenge Rollins for his title on the January 15 edition of Monday Night Raw.

On Tuesday, January 9, AEW CEO Tony Khan took to Twitter to send out two tweets addressing the two new world title challengers and the USA Network Twitter account.

In the first tweet, Khan noted that there is a double standard online where he accused fans of showing rage towards HOOK challenging Joe, but none towards Mahal challenging Rollins. He wrote:

A double standard:

@730hook 28-1 career record, on winning streak calls out the Champ, a logical challenge sparks online outrage

Jinder has literally lost every single match he’s in for the past year, immediately gets title shot, where is the rage

Khan then responded to a jab from the USA Network Twitter account that responded to a fan asking about the cagematch rating for Seth Rollins vs. Jinder Mahal from 2012. TK replied:

A moral victory for USA is one win more than their World Title challenger Jinder Mahal has in the past 364 days… because it’s been literally a full year since he won a match.
You really put AEW in our place getting Jinder Mahal in a big match on your tv show. Do it more often

Seth Rollins will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Jinder Mahal on the January 15 edition of WWE Raw. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen when Samoa Joe will defend the AEW World Title against HOOK.
