Tony Khan Provides Latest On Potential AEW Streaming Deal AEW

AEW announced the upcoming launch of their new show Collision at the Warner Bros Discovery Upfronts earlier this month, with the show set to debut on June 17.

Despite the addition of Collision to AEW’s lineup, the company did not announce a new rights deal with WBD during the Upfronts, with Collision simply being added to the existing deal alongside Dynamite and Rampage.

This leaves AEW still currently without a streaming deal, with no home for historical archived content in the United States for the company.

Speaking to Variety, Tony Khan gave the latest on a potential streaming deal for AEW, where he said that there are more opportunities for a potential deal as their library of historical content expands.

He also said that they are still looking for the right solution in regards to streaming.

He said:

“As we build a great library of historical content, it presents more and more opportunities for a potential FAST entry I think. I think that’s a decision we need to make in part with our domestic media partners, with Warner Bros. Discovery, who have great presence in the world of streaming, and figure out what makes sense for us in terms of our partnership. Because absolutely there is money on the table for streaming pro wrestling events…So there could be great opportunities there.

“Domestically we’re still looking for the right solution, and it’s a very exciting time for us because the streaming business continues to grow here domestically and frankly the value of AEW events continues to grow. I believe as the landscape changes we can expand AEW’s streaming revenue multiple times over.”

There had been speculation about AEW potentially finding a home on WBD’s own MAX streaming service, but that has yet to come to fruition.
