Tony Khan has revealed who he considers to be AEW’s “greatest star ever” ahead of Full Gear 2024.
The sixth annual AEW Full Gear pay-per-view is set to take over the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, with 12 bouts set to feature on the card across the main card and Zero Hour.
The main event offering on the night is Jon Moxley’s first AEW World Championship defence of his fourth reign with the title, as he takes on ‘Freshly Squeezed’ Orange Cassidy.
While the match is Cassidy’s first shot at the AEW World Championship in a pay-per-view event, top billing is familiar territory for Moxley, as the only star to capture the company’s prize on four occasions.
Speaking with CHGO Sports ahead of Full Gear, Khan named Moxley as his pick for the greatest star in the company’s five-year history.
Khan explained:
“Jon Moxley is AEW’s greatest star ever. Jon Moxley’s the four-time world champion. At the beginning of the launch of AEW, we ended our first-ever show with Jon Moxley standing atop the poker chips at Double or Nothing, and it’s been that way since.
“He’s a four-time champion, he’s a force in AEW, and I really think that this match [against Orange Cassidy] is gonna be an awesome, awesome world title fight.”
