Tony Khan Promises Five-Year AEW Mystery ‘Will Be Solved’ AEW

Tony Khan has promised that a five-year AEW mystery will be solved one day, imploring fans to “stay tuned” to find out.

The March 3, 2021 episode of AEW Dynamite saw the in-ring debut of four-time NBA Championship winning center Shaquille O’Neal, as he teamed with Jade Cargill to take on the team of Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet.

While the match stands out as one of AEW’s most notable celebrity crossover moments, there has always been questions regarding what happened with Shaq after the bout came to a close.

After being put through a table by Rhodes, Shaq was stretchered out of Daily’s Place and placed into an ambulance. However, when Tony Schiavone attempted to check on Shaq, he discovered that the three-time NBA Finals MVP had vanished.

Exactly where Shaq went is something that has never been answered on AEW TV, and during an appearance on TMZ Inside the Ring, Tony Khan was asked whether he could finally reveal his whereabouts.

Vowing that the answer to the long-standing question will be revealed eventually, Khan said:

“Stay tuned. One of these days it’s going to happen. It’s a good reason to stay tuned.

“It’s been years but I know eventually that mystery will be solved. Shaq’s whereabouts when they went to check the ambulance. They’ll find him.

AEW Brings Back Stipulation For AEW Revolution 2026

AEW Revolution 2026 will be headlined by MJF defending his AEW World Championship against “Hangman” Adam Page, with Page relinquishing his ability to challenge for the AEW World Title ever again should he lose the match.

This stipulation is something that fans haven’t seen implemented since AEW’s second-ever pay-per-view: Full Gear 2019, when Cody Rhodes challenged Chris Jericho for the AEW World Championship.

Rhodes lost that match as a result of his then protégé MJF throwing in the towel on his behalf, before betraying him and turning heel after the bell. As a result, Rhodes never challenged for the AEW World Title ever again, but did win three TNT Championships during his three year tenure in the company.
