Just this year, we have seen the likes of Brian Cage, Miro, Brodie Lee, Matt Hardy, Eddie Kingston, Matt Sydal, Thunder Rosa, Serena Deeb, Ricky Starks and more make their first appearances for AEW.
The big AEW debuts aren’t expecting to be stopping there, as Tony Khan has told Wade Keller this week that he is in the process of speaking to several “big names” about joining the promotion over the coming weeks/months:
“There’s people still debuting on Dynamite and there’s people that are working their way up our roster on Dark that I’m really excited about. Then there’s big names that nobody knows about that I’m talking to. So, I’ve got a lot of aces up my sleeve.”
Tony Khan didn’t reveal the identity of any of these big names or even give away any clues, but some have speculated that one of the people he could have been referring to was Davey Boy Smith Jr.
Along with WWE, IMPACT and NJPW, it was reported earlier this month that AEW is interested in signing Davey Boy Smith Jr. You can read more about that by clicking here.
