Tony Khan Reveals “Main Focus” Of AEW Television Show

The Steve Austin Show has returned after a six month hiatus and Stone Cold’s first guest, AEW President Tony Khan, had plenty to say about the upcoming AEW TV show on TNT.

Khan once again outlined how tag team wrestling was going to be a key focus of AEW’s product, something that has been touted by the promotion since its inception.

The AEW chief said that tag wrestling will be a key feature of the group’s upcoming television show on TNT when it launches later this year.

He revealed that a tag team tournament will be one of the key focuses of the show, which we can assume will lead to the promotion crowning its first tag team champions.

“We’re going to establish a great tag team division. When we launch our weekly television show in the fall, we’re going to be doing a tag team tournament that’s going to have some of the greatest tag team matches ever on TV. It’s going to be a main focus of our TV.

There will be teams competing to get a first-round bye in that tournament, which is a big deal. We’ll have some of the best tag teams in wrestling competing for our Tag Team Championships coming up in the fall.”

AEW currently has several exciting tag teams on the roster, including The Young Bucks, Best Friends, The Lucha Brothers, The Rhodes Brothers, The Dark Order (Super Smash Brothers), Angelico & Jack Evans, SCU and Strong Hearts.

No doubt there will be more teams put together prior to the tournament, be it from current members of the roster or new signings.

AEW returns with its second show, Fyter Fest, which is streaming free on Bleacher Report Live.
