Tony Khan Reveals The One Match He Tried To Have In AEW This Year AEW

Tony Khan has revealed the one match that he tried to have in All Elite Wrestling this year.

Since AEW started signing a litany of the top free agents in wrestling, there have been various stars that fans have believed deserved a better push.

A consistent name in that discussion has been former AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR.

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have had a very successful 2022, holding the IWGP, AAA and ROH World Tag Team Championships and putting an impressive catalog of instant classics.

During the AEW Full Gear media briefing call, AEW President Tony Khan was asked about FTR not having a match on the Full Gear card despite having such a big year.

Khan explained that he has tried to use the duo as much as possible and praised their year in holding titles for three separate promotions.

Later, the AEW CEO was asked about the criticism for Ring of Honor interfering with AEW television.

Khan noted that ROH has given him the opportunity to give huge bouts to his robust roster of talent, including the current Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions FTR.

After mentioning that FTR got a main event match against The Briscoes on the last pay-per-view Death Before Dishonor, Khan admitted that he tried to book the bout in AEW.

TK said, “believe me, I tried” in reference to the match happening in All Elite Wrestling.

As previously reported, Tony Khan also clarified the situation surrounding the Full Gear Eliminator Tournament.

The AEW Full Gear 2022 event will take place this Saturday, November 19 from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The show will be headlined by Jon Moxley vs. MJF for the AEW World Championship. Also, Chris Jericho will defend the ROH World Title against Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli and Sammy Guevara.
