Tony Khan Defends Booking Of ROH In AEW AEW

AEW CEO Tony Khan has spoken about his attempts to limit the company’s focus on Ring of Honor (ROH) segments on AEW television.

Khan has received criticism in recent months for using AEW’s sparing television time to tell stories related to the secondary promotion, often at the expense of AEW feuds.

In an interview with the Battleground podcast, Khan said that he had tried to limit ROH focus to just segments featuring Chris Jericho, who currently holds the ROH World Championship:

“One thing I have tried to do… I think we only have three hours of AEW TV a week so I have tried to limit the Ring of Honor focus on Dynamite to mostly the Ring of Jericho and Chris Jericho, the ROH World Champion.”

He also said that he has tried to keep the other ROH title matches on either AEW Rampage or Dark: Elevation, saying he finds it “amusing” when people call out the idea that there’s too much ROH on Dynamite.

As well as being the ROH World Champion, Jericho was also AEW’s first ever world champion.

Jericho will defend the ROH World Championship against Claudio Castagnoli in the main event of ROH Final Battle this coming Saturday December 10.

If Castagnoli loses the match, he will have to join the Jericho Appreciation Society.

Other matches include Daniel Garcia vs Wheeler Yuta for the ROH Pure Championship, Mercedes Martinez vs Athena for the ROH Women’s World Championship, Samoa Joe vs Juice Robinson for the ROH World Television Championship, and Swerve In Our Glory vs Shane Taylor and JD Griffey in a tag team match.
