Tony Khan has teased that AEW is not done with surprise signings and one may be headed their way sooner rather than later.
In an interview with Josh Martinez from Z100 and iHeartRadio in Newark, New Jersey, the AEW President was asked if he has a dream signing that he was going after and if so, were they in North America, to which Khan replied:
“There is. They are in North America and they’re coming. And pretty soon and it’s gonna be awesome. I’m very excited.”
This isn’t the first time Tony Khan has teased a potential exciting signing coming soon having previously commented: “I think these next few weeks are going to be really exciting for fans of wrestling.”
AEW has a big week of shows planned with five championships on the line over the three televised programs this week with Dynamite on Wednesday, January 5 on TBS, AEW Rampage on Friday, January 7 on TNT, and Battle of Belts on Saturday, January 8 on TNT.
The first edition of AEW Dynamite on TBS is currently scheduled to feature a bout between Malakai Black and Brian Pillman Jr, Ruby Soho vs Jade Cargill in the AEW TBS Championship Tournament Final, Lucha Brothers defending against Jurrasic Express for the AEW World Tag Team Championship, and Hangman Adam Page defending the AEW Championship against Bryan Danielson with guest judges.
