Tony Khan Gives Honest Thoughts On WWE Scheduling Worlds Collide On Same Date & City As AEW All Out

AEW President Tony Khan has given his honest thoughts on WWE scheduling Worlds Collide on the same date and city as AEW All Out.

AEW recently announced the date and location of it’s All Out pay-per-view event, announcing that the show would take place a month after All In on September 26 in Chicago.

Shortly after the announcement of All Out, WWE announced that a WWE x AAA Worlds Collide event would also take place on September 26, also in Chicago, just 20 miles away from AEW All Out.

Tony Khan Gives Thoughts On WWE Worlds Collide On The Same Day As AEW All Out

Speaking on the Battleground podcast, Tony Khan was asked his thoughts on WWE running Worlds Collide the same day as All Out.

Tony said that it is the reality of current wrestling, and that he also sees it as a compliment of how well AEW is doing.

He said:

“It’s the reality of current wrestling, it’s the frankly predatory nature of scheduling of events, but also the compliment that says AEW is doing very well, and Chicago’s a great city for wrestling.

“I’m very excited for AEW All Out and it’s not something unexpected to have competition, and I do welcome it. I’m also really excited about the run of shows coming up.”

WWE To Stack Worlds Collide Against AEW All Out?

With WWE directly competing head to head with AEW on September 26, they will likely stack their card for Worlds Collide to take viewership away from All Out.

With the show being in Chicago, the first name speculated for the show would be Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk, with his history of AEW being another key selling point of him going head to head with AEW.

Dominik Mysterio will likely also be in action on the show, potentially against Punk, with him currently reigning as the AAA Mega Champion, defending the title against El Grande Americano at TripleMania.

AEW’s show itself will take some competing with, as coming out of All In, it will likely feature the first AEW World Championship defence of Will Ospreay, who will headline All In after winning the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
