Tony Schiavone Addresses AEW Star’s Departure AEW

Tony Schiavone has addressed the AEW departure of wrestling legend Tully Blanchard, wishing him all the best for the future.

On the January 10 edition of the Two Man Power Trip Podcast, Tully Blanchard confirmed that he had finished up with AEW and ROH.

Blanchard said that the situation was complex, but ultimately his contract was up.

Speaking on his What Happened When podcast, Tony Schiavone noted that he enjoyed having the opportunity to work with Blanchard again.

Discussing Blanchard’s departure, the AEW announcer said:

“It was fun for me being able to work with him again. I really enjoyed it, and I’ve always enjoyed working with Tully. He was, as we have seen, as we have been watching over the years here on ‘What Happened When’, he was a great talent.

“I get it. I get that some people want people to remember them as they used to be and not as they are now. Also, he’s got a very important job, working in a prison, working with inmates, trying to get their live back on track.

“Kudos to him for that. So I get it, and I wish him the best. It was great being able to work with him.”

Blanchard was previously the manager for Brian Cage, Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun, who currently hold the ROH Six Man Tag Team Championship following their title win at Death Before Dishonor 2022.
