Top AEW Star Would ‘Consider’ WWE Return

Top AEW Star Would ‘Consider’ WWE Return AEW/WWE

A top AEW star says they would “consider” a return to WWE in the future, but admits the decision is dependent on where they’re at at the time.

Despite being a pivotal figure in AEW’s short history, Chris Jericho is a name many fans synonymise with WWE – with Y2J leaving legacy in the company that ranks him among the best of his generation.

Speaking at Horror Rock and Wrestle Fest 2025, Jericho left the door open for a WWE return, while also admitting that there’s also a possibility he won’t go back as well.

Jericho said:

“I would have considered a return to WWE before things changed. Once again, there are two teams you can play on, which is amazing, and it’s one of the reasons why I wanted to take a chance and go to AEW in the first place.

“It was a real gamble… Of course, I would consider going back there [WWE]. I would also consider not going back there too. It just depends on what the situation is and what’s going on with me at the time.”

Jericho still holds the record for the most reigns as WWE Intercontinental Champion with nine, having also won six World Championships, four WWE Tag Team Championships and two United States Titles across three spells with the company.

‘The Nueve’ is currently enjoying his second reign as ROH World Champion and will defend his title in a Title vs. Mask match against Bandido at tonight’s AEW Dynasty 2025 pay-per-view (April 6).
