Last month, Sammy Guevera was suspended by AEW and sent to Sensitivity Training after some inappropriate comments he made regarding Sasha Banks in 2016 resurfaced.
Guevara was not seen in AEW for a number of weeks, but made his return during the main event of last week’s episode of Dynamite following The Inner Circle’s match with Jurassic Express.
During the main event, AEW Dark wrestler Serpentico made his way into the ring to join Inner Circle in a beatdown. However, Serpentico then unmasked and revealed himself to be Sammy Guevara.
During his Saturday Night Special live stream on Facebook, Chris Jericho revealed that he was the man responsible for booking Sammy’s return on the 07/22 episode of AEW: Dynamite.
“I booked it. I thought it was great, I loved it. I thought it was awesome.”
Sammy is set to be in action on this week’s show, teaming with The Inner Circle to take on Best Friends, Orange Cassidy, Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus in a ten-man tag team match.
