Chris Jericho Discusses Re-Signing With AEW AEW

A top AEW star has discussed their decision to re-sign with the company.

Earlier this week, All Elite Wrestling announced that Chris Jericho had re-signed a three-year contract extension that will see him with the promotion through December 2025.

On top of his on-screen responsibilities, Jericho will also take on the roles of producer and creative advisor, while he continues to work as a mentor to younger talent.

In a new interview with Variety, the reigning Ring of Honor World Champion commented on his new deal and the decision to re-sign.

He said:

“I guess the simple answer is ‘Why not?’ Things have been going so well in the company, and I really do feel that this is my company. It’s tattooed on my heart, so to speak. I’ve been here since day one, and there’s really no reason not to be here continuing forward.”

In regards to AEW’s growth at this point, Jericho said:

“When AEW first started, I think basically it was Chris Jericho and a group of very talented people that might not have been as well known. Within three months that changed and now within three years, we’ve got at least a dozen, maybe two dozen, of our own homegrown stars that came into their own on AEW television.”

Chris Jericho defeated Dalton Castle to retain the ROH World Title on the October 18 edition of AEW Dynamite.

Jericho will team with Daniel Garcia to face the Blackpool Combat Club’s Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta on next Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite.
