Chris Jericho is one of the most creative people in wrestling. In recent months he revealed his latest creation, the Mimosa Mayhem match. Now, he has taken the necessary steps to protect the idea from others.
Jericho applied to trademark the term “Mimosa Mayhem” on September 9. Here is the description for the trademark application:
IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network. Jericho and Orange Cassidy took part in the first ever Mimosa Mayhem match at All Out on September 5. Orange Cassidy came out on top after he delivered a Superman Punch to Jericho, sending him off the turnbuckles into a pool of mimosa at ringside.
Jericho has since said he and Jake Hager will be entering the tag team division with the intention of winning the tag team championship. They picked up a win on last week’s episode of Dynamite, defeating the team of Sonny Kiss and Joey Janela.
