After leaving the Inner Circle on Dynamite last week, and it has now emerged that Sammy Guevara has landed himself in some hot water with All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

Slam Wrestling is reporting that Sammy Guevara has got backstage heat over an IMPACT angle. Tony Khan is said to be unhappy with how Sammy Guevara voiced his unhappiness over an angle that would have seen him brought in to IMPACT.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, AEW star Sammy Guevara has landed in hot water with AEW over an Impact angle. AEW owner Tony Khan is not pleased with Guevara after he voiced complaints about a planned storyline which would have brought Guevara into the ongoing inter-promotional angle with Impact Wrestling.

The report states that Chris Jericho pitched for Sammy to appear in IMPACT, and idea that Tony Khan liked and contact IMPACT Wrestling to set and set up.

The original idea from IMPACT Wrestling was rejected, but the promotion’s second pitch was accepted and factored Guevara into the plans at the last minute:

The source reports to Slam Wrestling that after this Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, which saw Guevara quit the Inner Circle faction, Chris Jericho floated the idea of Guevara appearing on Impact. He pitched the idea to Khan who contacted Impact about writing Guevara into an angle at the last minute. Impact’s first take on things was rejected but a second idea was given the greenlight by Khan.

IMPACT planned on shooting the angle the following day, but the promotion were messaged by Sammy Guevara directly who said that he wasn’t happy with the plans. IMPACT then contacted Tony Khan and Chris Jericho with the news.

Chris Jericho then reportedly reached out to IMPACT Executive Vice-President and current AEW on-screen character Don Callis, to ask him to ban Sammy Guevara from the IMPACT tapings:

Plans were made to shoot the angle the next day but Impact received a message directly from Guevara complaining about the creative direction. Impact in turn contacted Khan and Jericho with this news. Jericho reached out to Impact Executive Vice-President Don Callis about banning Guevara from Impact’s premises.

By the time that Sammy Guevara had landed in Nashville for the tapings, Chris Jericho texted Sammy Guevara and advised him to return home and not head to the venue for the IMPACT tapings.

The report notes that AEW higher-ups were concerned with how Sammy Guevara’s potential actions may have impacted the relationship between the promotion and IMPACT Wrestling:

By the time Guevara arrived in Nashville he received a message from Jericho advising him to return home and not to head to Impact’s shooting location.

After all is said and done and the smoke has cleared, AEW management is apparently concerned that Guevara’s actions may have possibly hurt their relationship with Impact Wrestling.
