Top AEW Star Wins Jiu-Jitsu Tournament AEW

A top AEW star has competed in and won a Jiu-Jitsu tournament in Ohio on Saturday July 15.

As announced by ESPN’s Mike Raimondi on Twitter, the Blackpool Combat Club’s Jon Moxley took part in the NAGA Cincinnati Grappling Championship, taking home the gold in the 30-years-old and up super heavyweight division (225-249.9lbs).

Moxley’s wife Renee Paquette reacted to the win on Instagram, posting an adorable picture of the 37-year-old with their daughter posing with Moxley’s gold winners medal alongside the caption:

When Daddy gets first place at grappling tournament

Moxley’s win will not doubt serve him well in the BCC’s major upcoming Blood & Guts match with The Elite on the upcoming July 19 AEW Dynamite from Boston’s TD Garden.

While both teams were initially down a man, the July 12 Dynamite saw the fifth and final names for both teams revealed, with PAC returning to AEW after six months to join the BCC while The Elite recruited former NJPW star Kota Ibushi for their last spot.

As a result the Blackpool Combat Club team for Blood & Guts will be: Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Konosuke Takeshita and PAC.

The Golden Elite team contains: Kenny Omega, Nick Jackson, Matt Jackson, Hangman Page and Kota Ibushi.
