AEW
A top AEW star has made his return to the company after missing seven months of action at tonight’s AEW Revolution event.
Tonight’s AEW Revolution event saw a Continental Championship clash take place, with champion Jon Moxley defending the title against the Don Callis Family’s Konosuke Takeshita.
The match was a rematch from their prior title match at AEW Grand Slam Australia, which went to a time limit draw.
Moxley would end up picking up the victory over Takeshita, but his night wasn’t over, as a ghost of his past made an appearance after the match.
Will Ospreay Returns At AEW Revolution
Following the match, the lights in the arena would go out, before a video aired on the screen featuring a doctor going to a man frozen in a chamber.
The man would end up being revealed to be Will Ospreay, who would make his return to AEW television, storming to the ring and taking out all of the Death Riders with Hidden Blades.
Ospreay would taunt Moxley in the crowd after he retreated, showing off the scar of his neck surgery.
Why Was Will Ospreay Gone From AEW?
Will Ospreay announced back in August 2025 that he had been working through a nagging neck injury that would require surgery, but he pushed it off to wrestle at AEW All In.
Ospreay would make it to AEW Forbidden Door in London later that month, where he was part of the Lights Out Steel Cage main event, teaming with Kenny Omega, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Darby Allin and Kota Ibushi against Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Gabe Kidd and the Young Bucks.
After the match, the Death Riders would re-enter the Steel Cage, with all of the members attacking Ospreay, targeting his neck and writing off Ospreay for his surgery.
Other Returns At AEW Revolution 2026
Will Ospreay’s return at AEW Revolution was not the first major return to take place on the show, as the show has already been rather newsworthy.
Following the AEW World Tag Team Championship opening match, which saw FTR retain the titles against the Young Bucks, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage would make their first appearance since AEW All Out, fighting off FTR.
The event also saw the AEW debut of Ronda Rousey, who would call out Toni Storm following her victory on the show against Marina Shafir.
