One of the more popular theories over the last year in AEW has been a potential heel turn for Cody Rhodes. There have been slight hints and teases at times but for the most part, Rhodes has been the company’s white knight.
Now, Rhodes has said that there is almost no chance he turns heel. While responding to a tweet theorizing that Rhodes could be turning, he said he doesn’t want to throw away his strong connection with his fans. Here is the quote:
“Literally almost no chance my friend. After a decade of honing my skills at this, and the last 3 – 4 years of such a strong and growing connection with my fans…I’d be a fool to throw it away and swim upstream.”
Cody Rhodes has been a babyface since the launch of AEW. However, he has played a more heelish role at times. This includes his first match in the company against Dustin Rhodes at Double or Nothing 2019.
After winning back the TNT Championship in October 2020, Rhodes said he would not turn his back on his fans, a sentiment he appears to be sticking with.
