Top AEW Star Says They Would Have Helped Kevin Owens At TLC

Kevin Owens had a bit of a rough night at TLC. His Universal Championship match with Roman Reigns didn’t go his way, due in large part to the interference from Jey Uso.

Many people have brought up the fact that no one came to save Owens from this two-on-one assault. Owens himself chalked it up to the consequences of him turning on his friends for so many years. However, one person would have made the save.

AEW star Chris Jericho chimed in on Twitter, saying he would have made the save for his former best friend. Unfortunately for Owens, Jericho was nowhere to be seen.

Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho had a memorable partnership from the Summer of 2016 until February 2017. Owens famously turned on Jericho during the Festival of Friendship segment, leading to a match between the two at WrestleMania 33.

Jericho left WWE soon after, choosing to begin wrestling for New Japan Pro Wrestling later that year. He has since signed with AEW where he is one of their biggest stars.

Owens will get another shot at the Universal Championship this week on SmackDown. On the show, he will challenge Roman Reigns in a Steel Cage match.
