Top AEW Star Set To Turn Heel?

It was confirmed yesterday on AEW: Dynamite that Hangman Adam Page will go one-on-one with PAC at Full Gear next month in a highly anticipated singles bout.

AEW has clearly shown its willingness to push Page in recent months. Hangman was in the first-ever AEW World Championship match at All Out against Chris Jericho.

Hangman is currently positioned as a babyface in AEW. However, Dave Meltzer is speculating that the promotion might be planting seeds for the talented worker to turn heel.

Speaking on the Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer had the following to say on the matter:

“They did a very subtle stage one where I got the impression — whether they do this or not, I don’t know, but they are teasing the idea of a Page turn.”

“Cody asked him essentially if he was thinking about turning, he didn’t use the word ‘turning’ but he basically said that. Cody goes, ‘I did that and it wasn’t a good idea.’ The Elite needs to stick together and they made a thing about how Cody has his own dressing room and the Young Bucks and Kenny has their own dressing room, but Cody goes, ‘You’re one of us, you can dress in my room. If you want to,’ and [Page] goes ‘I’m good.’”

There is no word on when AEW plans on pulling the trigger on a Hangman Page heel turn. Some have speculated that he could turn on The Elite and join Chris Jericho in the Inner Circle.

On the topic of heel turns, it has been rumoured that MJF, who will be in the corner of Cody at Full Gear, could turn on his mentor at the upcoming pay-per-view and join the Inner Circle.
