Top AEW Star Speaks Highly Of Jim Cornette

One of the top stars in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), MJF, has spoken highly of the controversial Jim Cornette in a recent interview.

Cornette never shies away from sharing his opinions, and when it comes to AEW, those opinions are very often negative. Not always, but very often.

MJF is one of the few AEW talents that Cornette has been very high on, although that took a bit of a dip following the Le Dinner Debonair segment, which Cornette absolutely hated.

Nonetheless, speaking with Wrestling Perspective, MJF shared some of his own positive thoughts about Cornette, praising his knowledge and ability to manipulate an audience.

MJF said:

“So I worked with Jim Cornette more than I think people realize when I was in Major League Wrestling. And getting to go back and forth with him – look, is he a fan of guys on my roster? Absolutely not, but if I’m being honest, neither am I.

“But he’s a very smart guy. He understands how to manipulate an audience. I loved his work, I loved Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan’s work. Even Grand Wizard. He might not have necessarily been the greatest promo of all time. But the guy understood how to manipulate a crowd without even speaking.”

There are certain AEW talents whose work Cornette does have a lot of positive things to say about, such as MJF, FTR, Jungle Boy, Cody Rhodes, Ricky Starks and even Darby Allin just to name a few.

MJF also happened to have some compliments for Paul Heyman, adding:

“I mean, there’s been so many great managers of the past. Paul Heyman obviously. We’re both Jews, we’re both very affluent. And we’re both very good at speaking and we’re both from New York. so Paul Heyman also another guy who is most certainly a big influence on me.”
