AEW World Champion MJF has found himself a new best friend in the form of his previous rival Adam Cole.
The pair have very quickly become a highlight of AEW television, taking part in multiple hilarious segments on this past week’s Dynamite show.
MJF and Cole defeated Matt Menard and The Butcher in the first round of the AEW Blind Tag Team Eliminator tournament, and are set for action against Big Bill and Brian Cage on next week’s Dynamite show.
However, MJF took to Twitter earlier today, announcing that he is, absolutely, definitely, unquestionably for real, ‘violently ill’, and will be unable to compete on Dynamite.
He wrote:
Hey got some bad news. Was sooooooooo excited to wrestle Big Bill and Cage this week. Unfortunately I’ve come down with something and I’m violently ill. I wish my tag partner and close friend Adam all the best. Pray for me and my health. Love y’all
Cole wasted no time in responding to MJF, seemingly confirming that he will force him to work the match while ill.
He responded:
Max…STFU. You’re coming to TV.
After Cole’s response, Max seemingly forfeited, admitting that he will be coming to Dynamite after all, but still had a request for Cole.
He wrote:
Guess it’s only cool when you get to do it. Ugh. Fine. You’re gonna wear the shirt though right?!?
MJF pretending to be ill is a spinoff of Cole being legitimately ill and pulled from Forbidden Door a couple of weeks ago.
The other semi-final match in the tournament will see Sammy Guevara and Daniel Garcia take on Darby Allin and AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy.
