For a lot of wrestlers, the idea of wrestling in Japan is something that is a bucket list item for their careers.
Recently, Mercedes Mone signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling, making her debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17 in the Tokyo Dome on January 4.
She then went on to defeat KAIRI for the IWGP Women’s Championship at NJPW’s Battle in the Valley show, becoming the second ever champion.
With AEW opening the Forbidden Door to allow wrestlers from NJPW to appear on Dynamite, and vice versa, we have seen several AEW women’s stars head to Japan for matches in the past.
Current TBS Champion Jade Cargill took to Twitter last night, replying to a tweet from fellow AEW star Lee Moriarty, who said that he was hoping to wrestle in Japan.
Jade responded saying:
Same. I want to go so bad.
