In case you were worried, the Lucha Bros. don’t appear to be leaving All Elite Wrestling anytime soon. A new report states that Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix re-signed with the promotion in August.
Bill Pritchard of Wrestle Zone reported the news earlier today. The brothers’ contracts reportedly expired on August 31 but signed new deals that same day. The extensions are reportedly for one year each, making them under contract until August 2021.
This deal also ties in to Pentagon Jr.’s recent name change. Since signing the new deal, he has been known as Penta El Zero M in AEW. This is because AAA owns the name and this contract was signed without the involvement of AAA.
It should be noted that there are no bad feelings between the two sides. The Lucha Bros. just competed at AAA’s TripleMania XXVIII event this past weekend. The choice to not involve them in the contract was reportedly just to minimize the risk of using trademarked names.
It was also reported recently that Pentagon has been dealing with a calf injury that he suffered in training.
