Top Free Agent Confirmed For Upcoming Event Amid AEW Interest AEW

A top free agent has been confirmed for an appearance at an upcoming wrestling event amid speculation regarding a move to AEW.

Josh Alexander has officially been a free agent for a month after seeing out his TNA Wrestling contract on February 14, with rumors abound regarding where The Walking Weapon will land.

After announcing his intention to retire from the independent scene earlier this year, Alexander has not competed since his last match at TNA’s tapings in San Antonio, TX on January 24.

While it’s not been confirmed if Alexander will be competing, we do now know that he will be making an appearance at Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling’s Northern Rising show on May 10.

The former two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion made the announcement after a surprise appearance at MLP Mayhem Night Two in Windsor, Ontario last night (March 16).

As can be seen below, Alexander made the save for Kevin Knight and KUSHIDA, who were being attacked by QT Marshall, Sheldon Jean and Blake Christian.

While no official signing has been announced, reports in February stated that Alexander was expected to join AEW following his TNA exit, despite interest from WWE also.

We will provide further updates on Alexander’s future as more information becomes available.
