Top IMPACT Star Believes They Will Work With NJPW Next Year

Many fans are hoping that NJPW and AEW start working together, but one current IMPACT star feels as if they are going to be the US promotion that starts working with New Japan within the next year.

Karl Anderson and Rocky Romero told Fightful Select (subscription required) that they think we are going to see IMPACT and NJPW working more closely together by next Summer:

Rocky Romero and Karl Anderson seem to think the bridge between IMPACT an New Japan will be gapped soon. Anderson told us that personally, he thinks that by Summer of next year some big things will have happened then. Anderson said that he and Gallows are still very close to NJPW higher ups. Also, Gedo asked him to stop saying “fuck” on TV before they left. That’s important to note.

[Romero] said that IMPACT and NJPW are friendlier than they’ve been in a long time and believes there is a huge respect there.

Earlier this week it was announced that current IMPACT star and former X-Division Champion Chris Bey is going to be part of the Super J-Cup that NJPW is putting on next month, along with several former WWE stars.

On this note, Rocky Romero told Sean Ross Sapp that having people like Chris Bey working for both IMPACT and NJPW is a step in the right direction with regards to the promotions working together:

Romero said that Chris Bey being involved in the Super J Cup is important in rebuilding the relationship between NJPW and IMPACT and is happy everyone is taking small steps
