A top international star is reportedly set to join WWE after recently bidding farewell to their promotion.
NJPW star Tama Tonga officially finished up with the company at Saturday’s NJPW New Beginning in Saporro show after spending 14 years with the company.
Tonga has long been a target for WWE, and it seems as though he may now finally be on his way to the company.
Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer, WWE sources have confirmed that Tama Tonga is heading to the company after finishing up with NJPW.
Tonga was famously a part of the Bullet Club during his time in NJPW along with current WWE stars AJ Styles, Finn Balor, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.
Tonga is technically also considered a member of the Anoa’i Family tree through his father Haku
It has not been revealed when Tonga is expected to officially start with the company.
Another top NJPW star, Kazuchika Okada, finished up with the company at New Beginning in Saporro, with him expected to land in AEW.
