Top Raw Star Reveals He Is On ‘Vacation’ From WWE

Dolph Ziggler was last seen on WWE TV on January 27, 2019, when he entered the men’s Royal Rumble match. Prior to that, his last outing was on the final Raw of 2018 where he lost a Steel Cage match to his former tag team partner, Drew McIntyre.

Dolph Ziggler has said that while he is “technically” still with WWE, it is more of a “handshake agreement”. He spoke to Chris Van Vliet about appearing in the aforementioned Royal Rumble match, and said he only found out WWE wanted him to compete the night prior:

“Oh my God. That’s a great story. Can I tell this story? When I talked to you, I was not booked for the Royal Rumble and I have no reason to lie to anybody or be like ‘Hey listen, I don’t know what the deal is.’ I was just on hiatus and I got a call to be there. And if I wasn’t in town for a booking for a comedy show that night I would not have even been in Phoenix. I got a call the night before saying ‘Hey, you gotta get here.'”

During the Rumble match, Ziggler got the final four and eliminated Drew McIntyre in the process. He said that he wasn’t sure if his feud with his former teammate was over in the eyes of WWE:

“I’m not exactly sure, but it did go into it more, I don’t know if that continues because I’m still just on vacation. I think it was more just I was in town and I’m one of their guys and it happened to work out so I got a double booking, double pay day, WWE and the comedy show.”

Would you like to see Dolph Ziggler return to WWE and continue his extremely gripping feud with Drew McIntyre? Let us know in the comments.
