TNA/WWE
A top TNA Wrestling star suffered a neck injury during a match on WWE programming back in October 2025.
In what was one of the biggest TNA and WWE crossover moments of 2025, the legendary Matt and Jeff Hardy added one more championship to their glittering résumés – when they captured the NXT Tag Team Championships for the very first time at WWE NXT Showdown on October 7.
After defeating Darkstate for the titles, The Hardys defended them against the former champions in a Broken Rules Match two weeks later at NXT Halloween Havoc on October 25.
In a match that was reminiscent of The Hardys’ extreme tag team matches of old, Matt and Jeff rolled back the years with plenty of risk-taking – however, it was seemingly not without consequence as Jeff Hardy has revealed that he suffered a neck injury during the match.
Speaking on the I Love Wrestling Podcast, Jeff Hardy detailed the “aggravating” injury:
“I’ve been dealing with two bulging discs on the left side of my neck and it happened when we dropped the titles our last appearance in NXT back around Halloween.
“So it’s been very aggravating, but it’s better than it was at first. The TNA medical team is kind of guided me through it. I started taking some peptides yesterday, so hopefully that helps and gets me back to 100% sooner than later.”

Jeff was then asked whether surgery had been discussed for the injury, to which he replied:
“Hopefully it’ll naturally heal over time. My two options from my family doctor was talk to the neurosurgeon or pain management. I said, I think I’ll just deal with the TNA medical team and have them guide me through it.
“So, everything’s been great so far, it’s definitely better. Even wrestling, I was freaked out having a one-on-one match with Mustafa Ali, because I enjoy his work so much and wanted to be the best I could possibly be, but it felt better.
“It was naturally aggravated a little bit, but it’s definitely better and hopefully these peptides make it much better.”

The Hardys ultimately lost the Broken Rules Match to Darkstate, ending Matt and Jeff’s NXT Tag Team Title run at 18 days.
While they lost the NXT Tag Titles, The Hardys have now been TNA World Tag Team Champions for over 200 days, and most recently successfully defended their gold against The Righteous at TNA Genesis on January 17.
