Seth Rollins Issues Apology To AEW Star WWE

Current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins has sent his apologies to current AEW star Buddy Matthews following this week’s Raw.

On the show, during the tag team main event pitting Rollins and AJ Styles against Finn Balor and Damian Priest of the Judgment Day, Rollins slid out of the ring and put his arm around Rhea Ripley at ringside while Rhea was distracted.

The spot was a callback to a spot between Shawn Michaels and Melina at Survivor Series in 2006, where Michaels did the same to the former Divas Champion.

Rollins was a guest on WWE’s The Bump today, where he discussed the spot, saying that the spot was right there for the taking.

Rollins went on to say he hopes that Rhea and Dominik Mysterio weren’t too offended, before hoping the same for his former protégé Murphy (current AEW Trios Champion Buddy Matthews).

He said:

“I saw an opening, I had to take it. I don’t know what else to tell you. It was right there for the picking, and it made for good television and a lot of fun.

“I hope Rhea wasn’t too offended, I hope Dom-Dom wasn’t too offended. I hope my old protege Murphy wasn’t too offended. I don’t know, I’m just pissing everybody off, I guess.”

Matthews and Ripley are in a real-life relationship, which prompted the comment from Rollins.

Matthews is currently a member of the House of Black in AEW, where he reigns as a current AEW Trios Champion.
