Top WWE Star Agrees With Controversial Undertaker Comments

A top Raw wrestler has given his opinion on Undertaker’s recent harsh words, agreeing that the WWE locker room is softer nowadays.

The Undertaker has became the talk of the wrestling world after his polarising comments about current wrestlers being a lot “softer” than former stars. Wrestlers such as Goldberg have supported Undertaker’s claims, while others like Drew McIntyre have disagreed with The Deadman.

Bobby Lashley has revealed that he agrees with a lot of what The Undertaker claimed. Speaking on ESPN’s Cheap Heat podcast, Lashley noted that his faction, The Hurt Business, was inspired by the old school locker-room mentality.

Explaining that when he was coming up, wrestlers handled their problems with their fists, Lashley pointed out that this isn’t the case in WWE nowadays.

He agreed with Undertaker that modern wrestlers are “softer”, noting that there used to be names that you knew ruled the locker room.

Here is the full quote, courtesy of Post Wrestling:

“Yeah, I don’t wanna say I agree with him completely — actually I can because it’s Taker. I can say I agree with him. So, I agree with him. You know what? That’s what The Hurt Business is about. I mean that’s why we came about because we were like, ‘What are we?’ And I was like, ‘We’re different from this generation,’” said Lashley. “Our generation came up — when I was in OVW about to go up on the road, everybody was warning us. They were like, ‘Man, you know JBL, you got Chris Benoit, you have Bob Holly, you have Undertaker, you have Booker T.’

All these guys, not one of these guys are punks. Fit Finlay, [William] Regal, not one of these guys have an ounce of punk in them. So, we were all like that’s our generation so coming in now, we were like, ‘We can’t do this generation. We can’t do what this generation is doing. We don’t wanna do what this generation is doing. We need to put our style on this generation’ and our style is bring ‘em in the ring and beat ‘em up, and if that can’t make it, they can’t make it because we gotta protect this business.

Lashley came through the OVW system, debuting on Smackdown in 2005. He quickly defeated stars of Raw and Smackdown in his first year, immediately making an impact.

Lashley is the current US Champion, associating himself with MVP, Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander. These four competitors make up “The Hurt Business”, a group which Lashley revealed was inspired by former locker-room enforcers.
