Top WWE Star Comments Ahead Of ‘Dream Match’ Outside The Company

A top WWE star has reflected on a rivalry ahead of an upcoming ‘dream match’ taking place outside of the company.

Tomorrow’s Marigold Grand Destiny show is set to feature a highly anticipated encounter between legendary rivals Mayu Iwatani and Io Shirai, now WWE’s IYO SKY.

IYO and Mayu competed in a number of classic matches against each other in STARDOM in the 2010s prior to IYO signing with WWE, but with WWE now working with Marigold, many had been waiting for the next clash between IYO and Mayu.

IYO competed for Marigold last year, where she took part in another dream match against fellow former Queen’s Quest leader Utami Hayashishita.

Taking to Twitter ahead of tomorrow’s show, IYO reflected on her history with Mayu, and commenting on tomorrow’s dream match between the two.

She said:

Just making eye contact brings tears overflowing. That’s so like Mayu. An opponent where we can clash with our whole body and soul, without holding back. Nostalgic, warm, painful, agonizing, heartbreaking, comforting. I think it’ll be a match packed with all of it. Please be sure to watch it.
