Bobby Lashley Reveals Insane Pitch To ‘Just Be Fat’ For Storyline WWE

Ever since his return to the company in 2018, Bobby Lashley has had an incredible second run in WWE, capturing the United States, Intercontinental and WWE Championships on two separate occasions each.

Most of Lashley’s success came after he aligned with MVP following his return in the 2020 Royal Rumble match. MVP led the ‘All Mighty’ to the top of WWE, staying by his side before betraying him and aligning with Omos on the Raw after WrestleMania 38 this year.

The All Mighty is often credited for his incredible physique, which is showcased in his great new entrance on Raw. However, if it were up to the man himself, we would have seen a VERY different side of Lashley back in 2020.

Lashley appeared on the NotSam Wrestling podcast, where he detailed an insane pitch he made to Vince McMahon that would have seen him put on 70 pounds as part of a ‘severe depression’ storyline.

He explained:

“I told Vince a year ago, I think a year or two ago, I told him, ‘I want to do this character.’ He said, ‘What is it?’ I said, ‘If I get beat one time, I want to go into the severe depression and put on like 40, 50, 60, or 70 pounds and just be fat, and then be a completely different character and then have like somebody like an MVP, or somebody that’s on my side, kind of like, pull me back and then have the crowd watch his transition back to me.’ He said, ‘There’s no way you can do that.’ I said, ‘Man, I think I can.’”

While we did not see Lashley’s pitch come to fruition, I’d say he’s done pretty well for himself since then.

Lashley recently lost the United States Championship to Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins on Raw after interference from Brock Lesnar, seemingly setting up a match between the two at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia next month.
