Fans were excited when Finn Balor moved to Smackdown in the Superstar Shake-Up, taking the Intercontinental Championship with him. However, the excitement soon turned to confusion when Samoa Joe was not announced as having moved the other way, meaning both mid-card championships were on the blue brand.
However, it was reported by Dave Meltzer that Samoa Joe was scheduled to move over to Raw, but was unable to appear on the show due to illness. Meltzer added that Joe will still move over in the near future, taking the United States Championship with him.
Meltzer, speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio has gone one further and even said that Joe’s first feud on the red brand has been decided. The former NXT Champion is set to do battle with WWE’s “Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman over the United States Championship. This will be a continuation of an angle that played out on last week’s Smackdown when Strowman appeared on the blue brand and attacked Joe.
What do you think of the possibility of a Samoa Joe vs. Braun Strowman feud over the United States Championship? Let us know in the comments.
