WWE legend Rey Mysterio will soon make an appearance in an upcoming series for online streaming giant Netflix later this month.
This not the first time WWE has had involvement with a Netflix project: in 2020 the platform released The Main Event, which presented a fictionalised version of the company and had several WWE names in starring roles including the Miz and Sheamus.
In 2021 it also released the interactive film Escape The Undertaker, which starred the eponymous Phenom as well as all three members of the New Day.
The WWE Twitter account gave the following synopsis of the series, which will premier its first episode on January 25:
“An ex-convict tries to regain her daughter’s affection after leaving prison, but it seems impossible — until she steps into the ring. Against the Ropes, featuring @reymysterio premieres on January 25, only on @netflix!”
